Scene 1 (Scene opens with street setting, 3 people sitting down eating.)
John- Hey look over there is that Richard Corey?
Steve- Wow! I think your right that is Richard Corey.
Charlie- Hey Richard. How’s it going?
Richard- Its going pretty good. How’s it going for you?
Charlie- Well its going all right but were all still stuck eating this cursed bread!
(John and Steve both cough hinting at Richard.)
Scene 2
As Richard is walking home to his wife he was talking to himself, why does everyone look up to me. I’m just another normal person like everyone else in the world. What makes me so special that everyone has to wish they could be like me.
(Richard gets home and starts a conversation with his wife.)
Nancy (Richards wife)- Hey Rich how was your day?
Richard- It was another boring old day where everyone looks up to me even though I have nothing to be idolized for.
Nancy- Well honey you have me, am I just nothing?
Richard- Like I said I have nothing to be idolized for.
(Nancy tries to get more words in, but she is speechless)
Scene 3
(Richard reaches into a drawer pulls out a gun and begins pacing back and forth)
Richard- Why?! Why does everyone think that I’m so special? That I’m so good? That I am so much better than everyone else has to look up to me. Well I just can’t take this anymore.
(Nancy walks in, still crying)
Nancy- Richard what are you doing?!
Richard- I’m ending my life so I don’t have to put up with everything I can’t take this anymore. I have nothing to live for. There is nothing good in my life.
Nancy- We can work this this out as long as we stay together.
(Richard shakes his head in disappointment, And disbelief.)
Richard- Nothing will help. I cant deal with you or anyone.
(Richard puts the gun to his head and pulls the trigger.).
